Five RI Delegates to Meet 53 Nobel Prize Laureates in Germany
[Antara, Sunday, 18.6.2005, By anonymous] Jakarta – Five Indonesian delegates will meet 53 Nobel prize winners at the 55th Nobel Laureates Meeting in Lindau, Germany, from June 26 to July 1, 2005.
The five Indonesian delegates met Research and Technology Minister Kusmayanto Kadiman, Rector of the Bandung Technological Institute (ITB) Djoko Santoso MSc, Advisor to German Research and Technology Ministry Alexander P Hansen, Head of the Indonesian Institute for Sciences (LIPI) Anggara Jenie here on Friday.
Those five delegates are Dr Anto Tri Sugiarto, LIPI researcher Dr Arief Budi Witarto, Dr Nurul Taufiqu Rochman of LIPI, Dr Ismunandar of ITB and Dian Pratiwi, University of Indonesia (UI) student.
As many as 53 Nobel prize laureates will their deliver a brief lecture on their respective fields during the meeting which will be attended by around 600 young people from various countries.
Countries which will send their delegates are the United States, Italy, Germany, Romania, Britain, France, Turkey, Portugal, Lithuania, Russia, Hungary, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Belgium, Chile, Venezuela, Brazil, Argentine, United Arab Emirats, Israel and some others.
